Tra La La La La

Christmas is my favorite season. The spirit of sisterly/brotherly is the air. Let's do at least one self-less act for someone this season. It will uplift that person and make our spirits soar.

Channel 55 the FX Station Has Programs that Rock

Did anyone out there catch the mini series Damages with Glen Close. I remember home running from work every Tuesday to see this excellent cast of characters. The plot was similar to an Enron fiasco. Froebisher, a business tycoon, has taken all the money his workers had in a pension and sold his stock just before the company went under. Glen Close, a high profile lawyer, takes the case to represent the people who worked for Froebisher. This series kept me guessing and I’m usually pretty good as abstracting who the bad guys are. The series dis use a lot flashbacks to give information about curent situations. I would see it again.

Say Yes to Healthy Snacks

Christma is coming and I'd like try a healthier eating pattern. So I've decided to eat a small meal before I go to social functions. I will try a litle bit of each entreand dessert instead of two servings of cake, pies, cookies, and wine.
For those of you who find housework as boring as I do, here are some short cuts and fun tips to help get you through it.

Gather all your supplies, such as cleaning solutions, spot removers, and cleaning rags. Clean from top to bottom and in a circular pattern around the room. For example, while toilet is soaking, wash walls, vacuum floor, if carpeted, and clean mirror. Clean the entire area before moving on to next part.

Eragon

Has anyone out there read Eragon and Eldest? Both are highly recommended children’s stories by Christopher Paolini. His story is rich with family drama, bravery, and coming of age. I learned recently that the author has decided to write a fourth book. This series was originally planned for three books. Although the movie was a big disappoint, I still look forward to the third book next September.

Smooth Jazz Rush

West Bend Wisconsin has been a proven venue for nine years. Set in Riverside Park, in West Bend, Wisconsin, the Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival has been drawing record crowds since its inception in 1998. In this outdoor setting, large tents are nestled on the grounds for two days, hosting top notch groups such as Fourplay, Crhis Botti, and Gerald Albright, to name a few. My sister and I braved the traffic on a Friday afternoon , bumper to bumper, to see what all the excitement was about. Euge Groove sent out some soulful sounds on the saxophone and we were immediately on our feet dancing and swaying to the music. Norman Brown led a magical music review that included Jeff Lorber, Peabo Bryson, and Chuck Loeb. Next year I plan to arrive earlier to get seats near the stage; a place where I can sing off key, jam to the music, and twist my hips.

At the Movies

The new Morgan Freeman movie “Gone Baby Gone” is in theatres. Quick, let’s buy our tickets online so we don’t have to wait with the crowd in the cold. This new epic looks like it's going to keep us on the edge of our seats. Morgan has that star quality that makes his every performance incredibly rewarding.

Singing in Rain, the Snow, the Chapel

Music is my groove. I'm considering joining a choir for the social vibe and music appreciation. When I'm home I listen to jazz, folk music, R & B, and classical music. Stretch out and listen to new grooves that you don't normally listen. You may become a fan to the new stuff.

Use Sense When Applying Scents

Who doesn't love to wear fragrances? They stir, excite, engage, and draw us to others. Just remember not to overdue it. Don't put it on your clothing because it lingers there and may not mix well with other scents in your lotion or har products.

Something Wicked

I so enjoyed reading Wicked and Son of a Witch by Gregory McGuire. What a story. Two women from different sides of the track become good friends. But ultimately, they choose opposites lifestyles that take them to dark places. Son of a witch reinvents himself, shaking his mother's shadow. There is more to this epic. A good read.
